Going from 50 amps to 30 amps for a 23FB

I am taking delivery of a 2015 23FB this Saturday. The wife and I are down sizing from a 36' 5th wheel which used a 50 amp service.

I have one of those $350 50 amp protection gizmos that I used on the 5th wheel, which by the way saved our butts a few times.

My question is can I used the 50 amp protection gizmo in concert with a 50 amp to 30 amp adapter to feed the AS? OR should I spring for a 30 amp protection gizmo and sell the 50 amp unit on Flee Bay?

It should work fine if it's like the one I have, however understand only one leg, will be entering the trailer. You will actually have one 50 amp, so the main protection in the trailer will be the 30 amp main breaker.
