'78 Sovereigns were - the Univolt-Bath-Bedroom 110 circuit was protected by a panel mounted GFIC.
I have replaced the GFIC (expensive) and cleaned most of the recepticals - I am STILL vexed with phantom ground faults tripping the circuit. Most come just after someone has taken a shower - may be a humidity related thing....
Any suggestions for a permanent GF fix would be appreciated.

I had a GFCI tripping problem in a sob trailer. Turned out to be the black (hot) wire running to two of the outlets had cut insulation, most likely caused when the trailer was built. Found the first one in the outside outlet, and then pulled the remaining outlets to check them just to be safe. That's when I found the second cut black insulation. I mean the insulation was missing from one side of the black wire for about a 1/2 inch inside the outlet box. One suggestion would be to pull all of the outlets on the circuit and inspect the wires closely - especially where the outside shething was cut away. Cuts or cracks in the insulation may be enough to cause the GFCI to trip when the humidity goes up. Another solution would be to replace the outlets in the GFCI circuit. Age can cause corrosion, again leading to the GFCI to trip in humid conditions.
