We have our new AS (2015 Flying Cloud, 25' FB) out on its first extended camping trip. One small problem I've encountered is the operation of the Fantastic Vent. It has a button for the power lift of the dome, with a toggle for open or closed. The closed activation works fine, but I have to turn the knob manually to open. The switch does nothing to open it up. Has anyone else had this problem? Am I overlooking something? The so called manual (the one from Fantastic that is included in the documents) is almost worthless, especially since it describes a different model than the one I have. Thanks for your help.
Hi - you need to be sure the knob is "locked" in to place (hard to describe) and then adjust the temp dials on the fan - I'm not near my trailer now but if you expect them to open and they don't, turn the temp dial 100% the other way. If you hear the motor spinning but nothing is opening, pull down on the manual knob and turn it clockwise until it sort of slides up and locks in. Wish I could explain that better. :-)
We had one on our '99 Casita that had the rain sensor, It would close automatically if it sensed moisture. But if I remember correctly I had to open it manually .
I was a great feature that proved itself on the maiden trip. We had left the vent wide open and took off for a Durango Train ride when a thunder storm rolled through.
When we got back the vent was closed and all was dry inside
