External access to Interstate GT house battery

Our 2018 Interstate GT does not get sunlight on the solar panels so is not charging the batteries while in storage. We would like to hook up an external solar trickle charger to the house battery. Has anyone done this? Is it a complicated process?

For an easy "once-and-done" method, access the batteries to add permanent connectors for the external solar panel wiring to the batteries, run the wiring to the rear bumper, and splice in a weatherproof plug-and-socket connection. Fasten the socket to the rear bumper, and then in the future all you would need to do is insert the plug and you're ready to go.
