Electrics - is this factory or a PO hack?

Hi all,
Thought we were in the home stretch of remodeling our '85 Excella. Alas! Two questions bothering us right now:
1. Our Excella has no DC fusebox, just an AC fusebox in the overhead compartment of the rear bedroom with a toggle switch on the side to go between AC and DC. Is that how they came from the factory or is it a PO creation?
2. We removed one panel and found that a PO had hit a wire with a screw, cutting the insulation and exposing the copper wire. Presuming there could be a few instances of this, is this a fire danger?
We are hoping not to have to take off the interior panels but dont want to proceed until we know the trailer is safe. Any advice or feedback would be appreciated

There may be a set of 12v circuit breakers on the forward interior wall. If there's a front gaucho sofa, the breakers are behind the back of the gaucho.

When you say AC fuse box, do you mean a circuit breaker box? Or do you really mean fuses? If it's really AC fuses, that's absolutely NOT an Airstream item. The only thing I can think about that fits the "toggle between AC and DC" on an '80s trailer is that they put in a light-switch style switch that turned the converter-charger off or on when plugged into shore power.

If it is like my 81 Excella II the fuse panel is behind the coucho under the center window. Mine also has a switch to turn the univolt (12V power supply) on and off.

How did you see the screw hitting a wire if you did not remove a panel? I would remove the screw and use electrical tape on the wire. You can also put some rubber tubing over the wire to protect it even more.
