Electrical grease

Do any of you use electrical grease for better connectivity and waterproofing?

I do when making connections in some applications. But, not on the trailer's umbilical cord end, not on the power cord ends, and not on the tow vehicle plug. I used to use it there, but got tired of having to clean the accumulation of grit and dust that the grease attracted. Now I give the plugs a shot of WD-40 occasionally to keep it clean.

I use it quite a bit, I pack all of our trailer light connectors with it, and most 12v plug-in items on the Airstream and boats that I can access (saltwater-use). Boat things like trolling motor plugs, radio, gps, other electronic plug-ins.....It does help guard against corrosion.

Edit-seeing A Ws post above, I had the same issue on trailer light connectors, attracting dirt. Found some cool "plug cover thingys" that you "plug into" when the trailer is sitting. This cured the dirt.

Hope this helps.
