Early adopter needs help
Some 22 years ago we had solar installed on our 25’ Excella. Just recently, we’ve begun having issues with charging using either our boondocker PM3B converter or our solar. It might be our antiquated Link 10 battery monitor is not reading properly or an issue with wiring or other problem. The main issue I'm noticing is that the batteries never fully recharge. This past weekend, we dry camped for a few days and went down to -63 amp hours, and some 5 days later we're still sitting at -36 even after being plugged in and most of that time and in the sun. The voltage has been reading 13.2 which I think is float? So, something is amiss.
My plan is to check wiring and make sure all is ok there before going too far. Any thoughts here would be appreciated.
The other part of this is if our current system should be upgraded, replaced, or retained. Our goals are at the very least to get a full charge on a sunny day. It would be really nice to run the microwave and AC and have power in store for days parked under the trees, but that might be out of our reach.
Here is what we have now:
Trace C40 Charge load controller
Powermax boondocker PM3B converter
3 siemens M55 48" X 13" panels (55 watt each)
Heart Link 10 battery monitor
2 Costco group 27 (thought to be 95 amp hours each)
What are your thoughts? Thanks so much for taking the time to help.
