doing away with electrical box 1960

I have an original electrical receptical box behind my refrigerator compartment that butts up to my new refrigerator heating coils. I want to close it up but I don't want the wires to melt from the heating coils. Here is what I was thinking and I need to get your opinions. I want to take the box off and tie off the wires and seal the hole. I would insulate the wires with a fire and heat proof insulations. This way to prevent a short or fire. I would rivet aluminum over the hole.
