Not quite an LED question but I'm considering installing some tasteful backup/fog type lights under the rear bumper and possibly along the underneath side of my AS. I'd place the on/off switch by the jack so that when backing into a site in the dark I could turn on the lights and illuminate the site. Has anyone done anything similar & have any tips? Thanks.

On my last two vehicles, I have put the 55w small halogen driving lights ( like Wal Mart sells) under the rear bumper. I wired them into the trailer harness on the backup light wire. Since I didn't want the trailer AND these extras on at the same time, I also put a turn-off switch for "reverse driving lights " in a water proof box strapped to the frame. Our check list notes to switch this off/ on at hookup and unhook times.
Some of the Motorhomes have "Patio Lights" along the side of the unit. I think installing some utility lights in the rear of the unit as well as both sides would be handy. There have been times when I really would like to see behind the trailer without carrying a flashlight.
Has anyone seen motion sensor lights installed? I am also considering doing this. I would keep me and others from tripping when they appoach the trailer.

I'm planning on putting 12 volt flood lights mounted on each end of the wheel wells pointing toward the ends of the trailerand and one on each corner pointing almost straight down. (eight in total) These will be on a switch/es mounted by the tongue jack. I will also mount the optional reverse litght on the back of the trailer. Part of the plan under review at this time is to put them on two switches, one streetside the other curbside. That way we can use the curbside ones as mood lighting in the evening.
I could just imagine running down the road with them on......... ...can you say ticket??
oh....so the wheels can see where their going......
Place them so they illuminate the wheels, and come on with the marker lights. Then you can see if you are having a problem with your tires on your coach as you drive at night. Hopefully there are no laws against it, IIRC, any white light cannot be actually displayed while driving, but if you can't see the light, just the light from the light, you should be legal.
