Exclamation Converter issues

I’m currently boondocking and hooked up to my generator (Honda EU3000i) and my batteries aren’t charging. Usually when hooked to shore power we don’t have to set the battery cutoff to use to get the full function of the electrical. But now when plugged into the generator and I hit store everything goes off. My battery Sealevel Monitor (while generator is running) reads “12.0” and dropping.

I opened the fuse box and then the generator took the load...went to the monitor at it read “13.2”...hit the store switch and the lights flickered on and off. Could it be a fuse issue? Thanks.

I have a 2017 FC.

Many possibilities but not likely a fuse issue.
Battery switch must be in “use” position to charge batteries.
When you say “everything goes off” Do you mean 12 volt or 110 volt everything.
Are you sure generator actually getting power to trailer.

Everything goes off...110v and 12v. Now my meter says I’m receiving a charge “13.2” I now can hit the store/use and everything stays on. Crazy...like a short or the battery was down so low the cutoff did not connect. We used the instantpot last night and all the outlets worked fine...we were charging devices and everything.

You said you opened the fuse box. The shore and generator power run through circuit breakers. IS this a combination power center?

It sounds like maybe you have a loose connection in the AC line somewhere. Do you have a shore power cable plugged into the generator or does your trailer have two power receptacles, one for shore power and one for generator?

If two you could have a transfer switch issue. If only one kill the generator and snoop around in the AC distribution area (the area with the circuit breakers like your house has) and make sure all connections are tight.

I only have one shore power connection...used for generator and pedestal. I’ll check for a loose connection after power is turned off. Thanks.

Also inspect the connector where your shore power cable plugs into the trailer. Those have been known to fail. One of the pins gets loose and overheats. The problem is evident by the charred and melted plastic around the pin(s) when you unplug the connector.

Thanks. I tightened up everything and seems to have fixed the problem. No charring on the exterior power connector.
