Charging Jackery with installed solar on Airstream

I have a Jackery 1500 and would like to charge it from the solar panels that were factory installed on my 2021 Caravel 21'. The Jackery can be charged via the 120V outlets, but it seems like a waste to use the inverter when the Jackery can also be charged via a 12V cigarette adapter. Could I use the adapter below and clamp it my lithium batteries on the trailer to act as a 12V receptacle for the Jackery charging cable? The idea is the solar would charge my lithium batteries and in turn the lithium batteries would charge the Jackery.

Hi

The Jackery will charge off of this or that source. Just how *well* it does is a different question. If you take a look at the "stock" charger, it's putting fairly high voltage into the device.

You do *not* want to plug into the "cigarette lighter" socket on the Jackery to charge it. All charging needs to be done into the same inputs that the 120V wall adapter goes into.

I would run something like the SAE solar connectors or Anderson Power Pole's to get to the battery.

Thanks Bob. Yeah, I was going to use the input port on the Jackery which uses a cable like this one:

I would then plug that cable into this one:

And the clamps would go to my lithium batteries on the trailer.

Hi

Clamps are not a great thing to use if there is any way to avoid it. You should have a "Zamp solar" portable power socket on your trailer. I'd just use that to supply the battery power. Jackery is a bit unclear on how much charge current they pull off of a 12V source. My guess is it's well below the capacity of the SAE connector the Zamp thing uses.

Bob - I thought that socket was to add an additional panel to the trailer, not to consume power from it. My goal is to charge the Jackery.

Hi

All that plug does is to connect a pair of wires to the battery through a fuse. It does not in any way care which direction the current flows.

Hey, I am looking into ways to take advantage of our Jackery 880. I thought the cig lighter connection on the Jackery was output only. Were you able to use is as an input?

Our Basecamp has a cig lighter connection in the trailer. Seems like it might be as easy as plugging the Jackery into that in order to charge the Jackery. It looks like it draws about 70 watts when charging with that cable.

This use leads to the questions:
Do I run the risk of simply moving energy from my AGMs to the Jackery?

Does the power center in my Basecamp prioritize the solar? (i.e. does the energy produced by the solar get used by various appliances with excess going to the batteries, or will it send power to the batteries and the Jackery?)

If the solar panels are producing less power than the Jackery uses to recharge, will the Jackery start pulling energy from the house batteries? (pretty sure that is a yes)

Hi

There really *is* no "power center" in an Airstream trailer. Everything just goes towards the battery. The solar can cut off another solar. The converter / charger can cut of either one or both. They might cut off the converter / charger. Having them fight with each other is not at all unusual.
