Hi

Once the jack fuse blows (or is removed), the jack is out of the picture.

Does the fuse blow or does it just spark a bit when installed? If it blows then you have a short. If it sparks but does not blow then the jack is still "running" for some reason. Again, a clamp on current meter would sort this part out pretty quickly.
