Battery Power/Disconnect turning off and on

Hi all,

I’m on my second trip with my 2022 Globetrotter 27 FB. My rig has one of the new green light buttons called “Battery Power” instead of the Battery Disconnect use/store toggle switches.

I’m at a large campground with full hook ups. The green light on the Battery Power switch keeps turning off for a few seconds at a time. I’m not sure why. I believe it should be constantly illuminated while plugged into shore power.

Plugged into 50 amp shore power and using a Progressive Industries surge protector.

Didn’t have the surge protector on my maiden voyage so maybe that’s why the light is behaving differently this time?

Easy to test. Take the surge protector out of the circuit and see if the problem goes away.

Doesn't seem to be tied to the usage of the surge protector.

The light is on maybe 90% of the time, day or night, but turns off for a few seconds at a time the remaining 10%.

Wonder if there is an issue with the batteries.

Guessing you have the Intellitec Battery Guard 1000 as we do in our 2022 25' FC. We had trouble with ours and were greatly helped by a forum user pointing us to the manual. The device our trailer was programmed for Chassis mode vs Coach mode. The device in Chassis mode will begin to blink if voltage approaches 12.1-12.2v giving 5 minutes of warning before auto-disconnect. Heavy loads (furnace combined with refrigerator) may put you in the "zone" for warning shutdown depending on your batteries, etc. Plugged in to power you shouldn't have an issue but below is a link to the product and link to the manual as well for your review

Here is a link to the product. https://www.interstatebatteries.com/products/srm-24

Hey @mrtoadcyrill - did you ever find an answer to this question? The same thing has been happening in my 2022 Flying Cloud 30FB.

My 2022 FC 23FB did it too the 2nd night out on the first trip. It started blinking about 2am with only the A/C and icebox running. I read on another thread that it blinks when the battery is low and mine did read 12.5v at the time. I called the dealer and he told me they weren't familiar with the new set up. I'm guessing that the converter/charger went into float mode by mistake. I got home and ran everything wide open for three days and can't reproduce what happened again while at home.

Hey all, yes - I took the trailer in to the dealer for some warranty work and had them work on this issue. They said it was a bad setting on the battery disconnect system. They had the system set to blink the light at too low of power usage. I didn’t get detail on how they adjusted the settings.

They said they fixed the issue but I have not been able to camp since having it serviced so I can’t guarantee whether that fix worked or not. Hopefully.

I'm having trouble finding information on the site you linked about how to adjust the programming. How can I determine which of those I have installed? Where on the trailer is the device located?

Thanks for the quick reply. I did see the link, but I don't see anything on my 2022 Flying Cloud 30 resembling those devices. I looked in the front storage near the inverter/solar/12v control panel and in the battery compartment. So I don't know if I have the same thing in my unit that you referenced in your post. Where else might it be hiding?

Got it.

You've got the round push switch with the green glowing led ring? I'd get a helper to push/release/repeat while you listen to locate the relay unit.

I'd listen for the relay click close to your WFCO converter. We have a 25' FBT and had to disassemble the passenger side bed to access it.

Battery Relay location

If you are trying to locate the relay for the Battery Disconnect, on my unit it was located with the AC/DC fuse panel under the Norcold Refrigerator. I removed the panel, and it was mounted to the backside of the panel. In my situation the black wire had broken off a two-wire connector, which powered the switch. The hardest part of this situation was knowing where to look.

It seems that in my case, doing nothing was the answer. Problem went away after I turned the switch off and back on again. Crossing my fingers it stays that way...

I’m new to the forum so I apologize if I’m not using the proper format.

My green battery power button continues to flash and a beep occurs every few seconds near the refrigerator even when the trailer is in storage and the battery cables are disconnected. Is this normal?

I'm guessing you have some rooftop solar that feeds the DC buss so there's some power feeding the trailer other than the batteries (we don't have solar so I don't know how the factory sets it up).

Beeping by the refrigerator? In storage I assume you have the door open but if the refrigerator has power, ours beeps if we keep the door open too long. Make sure you have the refer turned off.

Green light on the power disconnect: Assuming the disconnect was shipped in 'coach' mode, if the DC voltage of the buss is 12.5v or lower the light should be blinking. So if you have some solar and not getting full output that may be your answer.

2022 FC 23’ here…. Ours has stopped glowing green altogether, but still works as expected (hoping i didn’t just jinx us ). Saves me from having to cover up the green glow each night though.

Good to know about the battery disconnect settings, thank you for sharing.
