Battery Load Balancing Question

Hello to All.... Last summer I installed a Victron Smart Shunt and cleaned up the battery box wiring after the mess that the dealer left me when they installed the lithium upgrade.

I'm wondering now if I wired it up correctly. The positive loads are distributed between the two + terminals: one + has the the DC panel, tongue jack, shunt temp sensor and battery heater switch. The other + has the inverter and the Zamp plug connector.

I've been reading that for parallel battery connections it's best to have all + loads connected one battery and all negative loads connected to the other battery (in my case that would be the one tied to the shunt).

In theory, this "balances" the energy draw and lets the batteries charge (and age) equally.

I think at a minimum I'm going to move the DC panel wire over to the other terminal.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.....

My 2 cents: Given the size of the jumper cable between the positive posts in the picture, effectively both posts are electrically the same (as long as all connections remain clean and tight). Makes more sense to leave them split up to keep from having a mass of cables on one terminal. - Brad
