Hi, I am a new owner of a brand new 2014 Airstream Interstate and I have no prior RV experience. Still getting to know the ins and outs of this machine. Please bear with me.
Question
oes the battery disconnect need to be engaged and ON whenever running the generator and not connected to shore power?
The battery disconnect has to be switched ON in order for generator to start but I am not sure if it needs to be engaged while using the generator.
Example: We switched the battery disconnect ON and started the generator. After a few minutes we switched the battery disconnect OFF thinking the generator would continue to work, It didn't and we lost power. Is this normal or should the generator have kept working even though we switched the battery disconnect to OFF?
Have looked everywhere for this answer. RV dealership is very slow in getting back to me. Not very helpful in answering questions.
