No diagnosis given by the dealer. I guess it was the convergence of a series of idiopathic events.

How many 10's of thousands of dollars do you want to spend on answering that question? Indeed it could / would / will get into that range if you want a full answer. Even with that sort of investment, the answer still may be something like "motor failed due to a brush issue", "converter failed due to vibration issue on T0-220 heatsink", "Inverter failed due to a capacitor issue". More or less a fancier version of "random events". Needless to say, dealers aren't set up to dive into failure analysis in that manner.
