Avenue motor home fuse for shore power connection

Hello everyone,
We’re trying to find the location of a fuse that is located in the rear of the van and works with the shore power connection. Is anyone familiar with this?
Our van was stored outside in the cold for several weeks, and now we have no power, so we’re exploring all the possibilities.
Thanks,
Anne

Have you looked in your owners manual?

There aren’t a lot of Avenues here, tho someone may chime in...

Good luck,

Maggie

Hey Anne. Long time no post. How did you resolve your inverter problem?

We both own the exact same models of Avenue Suites, but as far as a "fuse" for the shore connection, I'm not sure what you mean. I only know of breakers for 120v power. I assume you've flipped them all fully off, then back on, since they can sometimes look good when they're actually tripped.

Are you positive your 30A coach outlet and cord connections are not damaged or melted (ask me how I know) and you are getting good current to your cord?

More information would help, however, everything you'd need to look at is under the curbside rear ottoman.

EDIT: Be very careful as you will be exposing live connections. Make sure the 30A power cord is unplugged, inverter off, and battery disconnect switch is off when working in there.

As an explanation to my bold quote above, after owning my Avenue for 6 months and two trips, I had the 30A connection over-heat and melt the cord when running the a/c for a long period. The only way I knew about it was that power went off. I was lucky there was no fire and I believe it contributed to the demise of my roof air conditioner due to low voltage.

The problem was not my fault. As I discovered when I replaced the burned 30A outlet, the white wire was not secured. It was supposed to be held in place by a screw-down connector inside the outler, but whoever wired it missed the connector and the wire was just stuffed inside making some amount of contact due to the small space for it inside the outlet. I don't want to blame Airstream, since there was some evidence the van may have been driven away while plugged in prior to my buying it.

My damaged cord was suspect so I bought a new one. I rewired a new connection on the old cord to make it into an extension. Other than the roof a/c, outlet, and a new cord, nothing else seemed to be adversely affected. And our van did not burn up.
