Attaching Upgraded Cable to Negative Bus Bar
I am relocating my batteries and have upgraded my battery cables with a heavier gauge, terminated set from Spartan Power. What is the standard method of attaching terminated cables to the negative bus bar?
I believe the larger set screws of the bus bar are 5/16"-24. In theory, I could use a small length of 5/16"-24 threaded rod inserted into the bus bar, followed by a nut to lock it in place (as well as to provide a spacer to prevent the terminated end of the battery from resting on adjacent set screws), followed by the terminal, then the terminal nut, as diagrammed in the attached image.
While I feel this would work quite well, I didn't want to overlook any tried and true methods!
Thanks everyone.
