Antenna Wiring

Still trying to replace the side mount antenna. The last of the must due items!! New problem at the radio end of the antenna. I thought it would just pull out of the back of the motorola radio. Doesn't. The is a copper wire that is connected to the radio. the male socket comes out. the wire stays connected. At least that is what I see! Any suggestions?? Tom

Copper wire

The copper wire is a ground shield for the antenna wire. It is usually attached under a screw head on the back of the radio.
