Instead of adding a second AC, I upgraded my older 13,500 to a new Penguin II HD improved version. So glad I did. It has proven to be much quieter, more efficient and keeps our AS cool at over 100 degrees. I'm sure that 2 AC's will definitely cool yours, I wanted my roof for additional mods like satelite dish and solar panels.

Hmmmmm.........

Considering that I don't think you are pre-wired for a second unit, it will be a chore to get that additional 20 amp 120VAC circuit up to the fan location that you plan to use for your second A/C unit. You would probably need to remove part of the ceiling to be able to run the cable, and be certain that the location is re-inforced for the weight of the A/C unit.

And after you convert your breaker box, power inlet(s) and transfer switch (if you have one) to 50 amps, if you intend to use your existing zone control thermostat, you will also need to run a phone-type data cable from the first unit to the second, which will be a chore unless you do it when you remove some of your roof panels.

Setting 2 units for single t/stat operation will be the simplest part!!!
