50amp/30amp Surge protectors

I sold my 25’ 30amp & purchased a 30’ 50amp AS. I now have a 30amp and a 50amp surge protector. I was planning on selling the 30amp. My question is: If i am limited to a site with 30amp service, can I use the 50amp surge protector with an adaptor or is it better to use the 30amp protector? I am aware that I have limited power and won’t be able to run two AC units at the same time. My question is, can you use a 50amp surge protector on a 30 amp service. I guess another question is. When you plug into a standard 20 amp service to charge batteries or cool down the refrigerator. Do you use a surge protector on that circuit?

You can. You just need adapters that go from 30 amp and 15 amp plugs to your surge protector. Commonly called dog bones because of their shape.

And you may be able to just two air conditioners on 30 amp if you put Easystarts (Mircoair) on both. We can run both on our 25 footer on 30 amp, but our units are smaller than the ones on a 30 footer.

The Progressive Industries 50 amp EMS will work on a 30 amp RV outlet with an adapter. You will only be able to run one AC at a time. Remember that you will only have 30 amps capacity vs 100 amp (2X50) for a 50 amp system.

I had a similar question about whether I needed two (1-50amp & 1-30amp) or just one and an adapter...so thanks!

Before I spend a few hundred buck on the surge protector, I must ask if the 2019 Classic models include any such electrical protection? We are about to pick up our new-to-us AS Classic, and it seems like they include everything...why would they not already include a permanently installed surge protector? I'm not an electrician by a long shot, but if I was building the best, and am including things like water pressure protection, wouldnt they also build in electrical protection?

Any wise and knowledgeable clarification would be appreciated!
