Smile 30 Amp Power w/o House Batteries Installed

Hi All
My "89" Excella is winterized, batteries removed and stored. (1st winter lay-up).
Is it possible to plug my 30 amp shore power cord to a 30 amp outlet I have on my garage wall so I'll have electricity on board for a 110V trouble light and to plug in a small ceramic heater? I've got some minor repairs and alterations for the winter I'd like to do. Will the converter try to charge the non-installed house batteries and cause me a problem?
Thanks in advance for all responses and help.
Great forum for us newbies to "streamin"
Cheers
Ray

My understanding is the converter needs a "load" ie batteries. In my trailer, my converter is on a seperate circuit - I can therefore turn it off and all (most) of the outlets still work.

30 amp power and batteries

If you are not going to us any of the 12 volt stuff in the unit you can turn off or unplug the converter. I do this everytime I work in my AS and then plug the heater and tools to the wall outlets.

Good luck
David

The 110 plug-in for the "Univolt" is probably located in close proximity to, if not in, the "Univolt" enclosure.

All of my overhead lights run on 12 vdc. Since I a certain amount of work at night, I wired up a battery simulator up in place of the battery.

It works great.
