2005 CCD electrical issues

We just started having trouble with our 1 year old 25" CCD international trailer. When we got to our last destination we found the fridge, water heater, stove vent fan and galley lights ( all on one circut) would not work. there was a blown fuse noted in the circut for the furnace but the fuse for fridge etc was intact.

we replaced a dead battery and the fuse and things started working again, but only for a day. same thing happened after about 12 hours, fridge out waterheater etc.

in my gut i think the converter may be bad. not sure though. we had the dealer put in a solar panal and i dont things have been right since then????

thanks for any help.

ablaze, saw your question on your battery in your 2005 25' CCD not charging. Did you ever get it taken care of? I would think that your dealer left a wire from the converter off or you may have the battery disconnect switched off when connected to shore power.

We have the same trailer, the batteries didn't stay upas well as those in the previous 22'CCD we had but we bought it one year old, it's now two years old so I replaced the batteries with gell and installed 2 130 watt panels on the roof.

If you have an anti-sweat (condensation) feature on your refrigerator, and it's turned on, it can drain a battery pretty quickly. It's typically an internal 12 volt heating element around the door frame.

Sorry you are having electrical problems. Our 2005 CCD had a failure of the converter/charger early on. Replaced under warranty and no problems since.
That is the first component I would check. We actually noticed the lack of the usual hum (fan) about the same time we noticed batteries running down while hooked up to shore power.
Good luck.

oddly enough, this was the 2005 25' CCD that was totaled in July (http://www.airforums.com/forums/f48/our-loss-35568.html)

However, the problem was resolved (at the time) with purchasing a new battery. No problems after that.

Small world, aahh, ...forum. I read about your misfortune earlier today. What a complete disaster. Glad you're here to talk about it, though.

Did you only replace one battery of 2? Perhaps the bad cell affected the other battery and now that you have a new battery the affected battery is wearing down the other? We went through that with our 2005. Had to replace both batteries together, tried one at first and the batteries did not stay up for long.

Right now the 2007 batteries are showing full but plunging immediately under a load. We have AGMs being sent to us along with a Xantrex battery monitor and converter upgrade kit to make the Parallex a three stage converter. These we have on order from Randy at bestconverter.com He has been very helpful with our questions and concerns.
