1975 Electrical Diagrams

I've notice a few members having trouble chasing down electrical problems. These pages from a 1975 Repair Manual contains info on all the wiring and wire colors. There are additional pages of text and details of lights, the Univolt, and other peripheral equipment. PM me if you think you need them.

These images were reduced to 800-1200 pixels wide from original scans 3000 pixels wide. If these are not sufficiently readable, let me know.

I assume the electrical system was pretty similar across all of the 1970s. And thanks to those who motivated me to look in the book--I found answers to problems I didn't realize I already had the answers to!

1975 electrical diagrams

Hi Zep. Will these diagrams also work in motorhomes? (75 Argosy, 20') any possibility of re-submitting them larger...so they can be read?

Hjan - if you open the individual attachments - then double click in the attachment - you should get an expansion indicator in the lower right corner. Click that and see if it makes it large enough.

Nice stuff Zep.

I have larger files if you need them. I would guess that the motorhomes are wired somewhat similarly--I just don't know how the engine battery and habitat battery(ies) would be isolated, etc.

When I click on the diagram, my system opens it larger in a new window. If you then click it one more time in that new window, it expands to the full bit width. At that size, the smallest print is just barely legible. If you're not having that kind of outcome, please post your results here so I can decide what size file I need to post to make these useful.

You can also save what Zep has already done to Microsoft My Pictures - open it there and use the zoom feature at the page bottom. That makes it easily viewable.

As part of another project, I'm going to convert the Airstream end of the tow vehicle 7-wire electrical harness to the modern female connector. The following two diagrams are all that's needed to make the modification:

This schematic of the Ford tow vehicle interface shows the use of relays to prevent overloading of the tow vehicle switches and allowing for separate fusing of the trailer currents. There's some additional useful info in the table regarding wire sizes and expected maximum currents:
