12V from tow Vehicle

I have an '85 Sovereign 31' all original. Does anyone or everyone hook up the 12V power from the vehicle to the coach? Will it drain your battery? And I suppose I have something called a Univolt that takes 110V and coverts it to 12V for charging battery and supplying power for the lights. It seems to work. But will it try to overcharge my battery? Should I keep it or replace it with the intellipower? And could some one tell me who the person is on the forum that sells them? Any other info along these lines is welcome.

here is how i did mine, i find it useful for overnight stops when running the furnace.

nice to be sure the truck will start in the morning, because the two batteries on the tow vehicle are isolated from each other with the key off.

here is the link: http://www.airforums.com/forum...ead.php?t=3770

Power to coach

John, I have a '04 F-250 Diesel. It has a big wire supplying power to that post on the trailer outlet. I don't know how it is powered or if it has some sort of protection to keep from running the batteries down too much to start but I bet it might. Thanks, John
