12 volt electrical box??

I am working on a friend's 1985 31' Excella, and there is an electrical box on the front wall, curbside that has 12 volt power to in. I can't find anything in the seervice manual to indicate what it is, or what it is for. Any help appreciated!! Thank you>

Is it the doorbell? I know older big-fancy trailers had doorbells. The vertical mechanical components to either side of the somewhat-melted-looking electrical thing in the center look like they could be chimes. Tap one with something metal (being careful of the electrical contacts of course) and see if they ring.

It definitely is the doorbell.

I have the same one in the same place in my 1983 Excella. Still works.

Yep, mine is a nice two-tone bell. Same place on the front wall.

Thanks guys!! I can't find a button the outside to activate the doorbell. Previous owner had the top side skin replaced after an impact that made a large hole. Airstream dealer in Saskatoon removed the original grab handle with the deadbolt lock on top and the push button on the bottom and broke it. He replaced with the new style and no button. I guess I will just tape everything off and leave it. Thanks again!! Chris
