Mike you are the BEST!!
Mike,
You are the BEST! I was so happy when you sent the pictures of your new trailer to me. I posted them under another thread about the East Coast VAC Rally. To me, you made the whole rally worth while. Get to work cleaning out the snake skins and get that trailer ready. Not sure how much work is needed but I hope we get to see you at the WDCU Cherry Blossom Rally next year in April. We have others before then, if you think you can make it.
Also Mike, what you don't know it all starts with one. Wait until you see the next one sitting out in the field, you'll want that one too.
I'll be heading down your way later next month, maybe we can hookup along the way.
Here's a few pics that Mike sent to me of his new trailer, notice the snake skins above the couch. It's a great find! He's a very lucky man even though he did have to put up with us.

Hi Mike,
theme song is, Another one bites the dust"
Welcome to the world of aluminum, where we all share the same affliction. We all have incurable aluminitis!
And we don't need no stinking cure, Do we......
Nice pics of the tradewind'

Hey Mike,
You made the correct choice, without a doubt. What other travel trailer manufacturer would you boast about owning a 1964 model of?
I would love to see photos of your find and to hear about your progress in refining her design.
This is without a doubt, the best place and most knowledgeable forum to inquiry about Vintage Airstream maters on the planet.

thanks
Thanks for the warm welcome. Special thanks to you guys from the rally. I'm both surprised and pleased that so many of you remember me. I'll give a status report. The snake came out of the underbelly about 3 miles into the trip home. I was following and got him with the truck. All skins are cleaned out and two hours with the shop vac helped considerably. Semi large colony of carpenter ants now gone. Ugly gold 70's carpet gone, original tile underneath in bad shape. Fridge and range hood AWOL. AC has at least one locked up fan. Furnace squirrel cage fan doesn't work.Toilet base linkages made of pot metal are broken. I haven't plugged in the 110v yet but the 12v seems to work ok. Belt drive water pump works but plastic potable water tank has a leak. I suspect a black water leak also but unconfirmed. But on the other hand, the water heater works great and so does the humphrey gas light. Not bad for a free trailer. What have I done? Mike

Mike, I remember you well. I tried very hard to get you to just join in with our activities a few times, but you just watched from the sidelines. I also remember your family coming through my trailer twice during open house, I have the all aluminum bathroom. And I really remember that huge trailer you have. The tradewind will be a slight downsize for you.
You have asked "what have I done" a few times now... what you have done is dramatically altered the course of your life forever. Buying my Airstream was the greatest thing I have ever done. I have met so many wonderful people and had so much fun in less than a year. It has totally changed my life. I hope we see you down the road soon.
Someone said join the WBCCI and the VAC, well Paul Waddell, a man of tremendous club spirit and all around goodwill ambassador paid his membership in those and the WDCU to boot. Paul is very much "the MAN" in my eyes.
