Where can i rent airstream trailer?

Hi guys ,

My name is Hamoud (from Saudi Arabia) far away from the deserts. I am planning to come to USA and rent an airstream trailer and a pickup truck. I've never been in USA before.

So please can you guys show me how to rent an airstream trailer and pickup truck.

And should i have permit to camp with other people? Like the rallys in this forum?

I've searced some websites but couldn't find anything.

Thank you,

Hamoud

Hamoud,

I don't remember seeing any campsites like those near Khobar. Maybe out toward Abqaiq.

I spent several months holed up in the old Andalusia Hotel (not the new Tulip Inn Andalusia) in Khobar several years back.

I don't know if I should encourage you in your Airstreaming adventure. You would probably find it much easier to rent a class C motorized RV.

Hamoud...Welcome to the Ariforums!

Wow! Now that's a desert!

Not too many places rent Airstreams for some reason...you can easily rent a motorhome of some other brand. You don't need "permits" as such to camp in the USA, though most developed camp grounds have nightly fees. Boondocking (non-developed area dry camping...no hookups) is typically less expensive...and available on some public lands. Check the boondocking subforums for more info boondocking. Anyone is welcome to join in Airforums Rallies...we are a friendly lot, and the rallies are casual. WBCCI Rallies sometimes require membership in the club, but many units will let you join them at a rally as a guest to "check out" the unit for potential membership.

Let us know how your plans to tour the USA are coming along...

Thank you and that pictures of Nufud in Ha'il at north of Saudi Arabia
it's good to heard from you. I will check the website looking for class c rv.

TBRich
Thank you for your reply , and i checked boondocking. I think renting trailer and pickup truck is more expensive in USA.
Thanks

Hello Hamoud -- Welcome to the Forums! There have been some discussions on this before. Our search function doesn't isolate out those threads very well. But this will help -- open Google, copy all of the following and enter it in the Google search line: rent airstream site:www.airforums.com

So that is 2 search words and the site that follows. It would be great to hear from you again if you manage to put together an Airstream rental!

hi hamoud and welcome to the forums!

i agree that renting a class C or class A from an rv rental company is a simpler approach.

with towing u have the issues of 2 vehicles and insurance and mileage and learning to tow and park....

but there are a few threads easy enough to find here using the search....

I'm not septicious by nature but i was surprised to see the unusual second picture on this web site...
i can't forget and you have not to forget that we are in september and on an american website...
just to say you, my feeling about your search...

Hi Hamoud,

Welcome to the site. Best of luck in your search for an American Trailer.

I like your trucks – do you own both of those Toyotas? I am surprised your steering wheel is on the left side of your truck – I thought in Saudi Arabia the steering wheel is situated on the right side of the car, since men drove on the left side of the road. What type of license tag do you have – I thought current Saudi truck tags were black with white Arabic lettering. Just curious.

In any event, best of luck to you and perhaps we will meet at a rally sometimes.

You are right my brother , i think i will work with your advice and rent class c rv (maybe roadtrek would be enough for me)

robert77
Thank you so much. I think i will forward your message to some people became so much interesting in airstream trailers.

brunoffrance
hello my friend and thanks for your reply
Bruno is very public name in France isn't it?
That picture is where my uncle lives now in the desert. He still lives there and refuesed to come to modern cities and live with me.
(september , america , me) i think you mean what happen in september 11, 2001. Ok some people said 19 people of my country did that but those 19 do not represent the other 18 million poeple who love americans. And belive me we cried so much on the died people and victims of the twin towers.

Thank for your comment and reply
We've been always have the steering wheel on the left side. current saudi car's tags are white with black lettering but for pickup truck it's blue with black lettering. They've been changed so much and just this year they allowed us to add letters on the numbers of the license tag
thank you so much

Welcome to the forums!

No bias here, at least not from me. How come I can't see the photos everyone else is referring to? Is it my browser? I'm using Firefox.

Good luck in your travels here in the USA.

Mary

p.s. just realized this thread is about a year old. Maybe that's why I can't see the photos??????

This thread was started a year ago. This person has likely come and gone on his vacation to the US. Thread is interesting, but dated. No answers needed.
