OK, I am not new, but not a poster either until now. I have been lurking for a while and watching ad learning. Well, a guy I know has a 30ft Sovereign/
1968 and I think we have a deal. I have a few things to take care of including a construction project, but by June or July, this trailer will be here at my place.
Its in decent shape and has a few missing items and a couple of dents. Its a rear bath mod with twins and a front room and actually a nice size kitchen area and fridge. Our plans are to restore it with more modern appliances and update some of the interior, paint, new aluminum and maybe some painted metal trim, we shall see.
I am no expert on Airstreams and appreciate any help with question on the threads I already started. However I can build a home and build hot rods (all mopars) so I figure an Airstream is the perfect choice. My wife and daughter are very much a apart of this and will be helping and deciding on what to do, ect.
We currently live in Northern Nevada and at 46 last year I retired from Law Enforcement, but as the economy went, I crossed over the line (workwise) and work as an officer in the peoples republic of California for the time being, until we can restore this trailer, sell the home and move to Cambridge Idaho, where I have 175 acres.
Our plans are to get this pole barn completed and a small living apartment on the property, then travel in this Airstream for how ever long we desire and make sure Idaho is where we want to be, who knows what we will discover.
Like most here, we are tired of excess and a big mortgage and once in Idaho, will have none or very little. So traveling will be our main deal. My 15 year old daughter is home schooled so keeping up on that will be no effort and it will be time to see America in an Airstream.
He are a few pics of out project and the rear sag testing method suggested by folks on here.
Now, I need a new user name as this one is for my darg car and doe snot match the trailer. My wife and daughter will help me with that.
Dave, Linda and Danii Brown.
