Smile We Made It!

We are very excited and a little intimidated because we just bought our first Airstream! We have never owned any camper or RV but are ready to learn all about this dream come true of ours. Our new baby is a 1977 Overlander and it is pretty much of a time capsule. The husband in charge of road worthiness and I'm handling sprucing up and freshening the interior. I'm sure we'll have questions, likely lots of them, but we can see there is a wealth of information to be had here. Looking forward to seeing all of you on the road....

Congrats and welcome! My wife and I bought our first ever camper of any kind last year and it doesn't take long before it feels like second nature! And speaking about nature - camping is just the best! Doesn't matter how - just matters that you do. Of course, camping with an Airstream is a particular delight, but I'm slightly biased :-)

Pictures pictures and more pictures please and thank you! :-)

The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. In your case, you now have the Airstream.

There are many threads (see the search function in the blue bar above in the main heading) to find useful thoughts on what to put into the trailer, the tow vehicle and create the check lists which help remind us of all the things that need to be "up", secured, etc before getting underway, when stopping etc.

Welcome to the Airstream world of fun and to the forum.

Welcome and congratulations! We're just about neighbors! We're looking to purchase our first RV/Trailer of any type soon when we find ours. We just got our tow vehicle today.

What your future plans? Got any trips lined up already?

Nothing planed yet. We haven't even wiped the mildew off the walls! We will be starting all that on Monday and going over all the details that will need to be addressed before we know how long it will be until we get it on the road. We are aiming for 2 months but only because of the husband's hectic work schedule. Suggestions for a first time trip are always appreciated....
