Today is the day!
Hi All,
Been a member and owner of a 1976 Land Yacht 25' for over 2 years.
This site has been invaluable! When I was looking to buy, reading all the posts helped me to be patient and not buy the first trailer I saw. I ended up finding our trailer at a good price in great shape and less than 5 miles from my house! So thanks already!
As you all know life happens and I am finally able to start fixing the old gal up! Today our adventure begins and she will be pulled out of storage for her first wash.
I'm very excited to finally use some of the great information I have found on this site!!!
Sincerely,
Duff

Congratulations!
Duff, Welcome to the forums family! We NEED pictures.... lots of them as you go thru the new baby and get it all spruced up to camp! Let us hear from you often. Also don't forget to tell us where you go and what you see when you get it on the road again. Happy Trails, Ed

Thanks for the welcome Janie & Ed,
Got her home and bathed her enough to get the dust off. Then I started making a list of things to fix. List keeps getting bigger and bigger! Why did I want to do this again?
Will remember to take and post pics as I go.

Hi All,
Added some images under my profile. No images of the middle bunk area, as it is full of supplies like insulation, removed light and vent covers, manuals, misc parts and supplies.
Feeling a little better. Belly pan looks good (no holes/rips). Exterior skins have a few dents and scratches, some loose trim, found one leak from a roof vent (so far) and all windows and seals are working. Interior needs work, with some damage in the bathroom floor (which I knew), but none under kitchen sink, fridge, bunks or gaucho that I can see. Can't think about the frame, axels, tires just yet--my brain is full!
Thanks again for all the info.

Hey Duff! Welcome!
We have matching '76 Trade Winds...both twin beds/rear bath.
At least you have gotten around to bringing yours home...mine is still in storage.
Enjoyed seeing your pics, looks like you got a good one, ready for your love and attention...and your open wallet!
To quote you: "Why did I want to do this again?"

Hi David!
Awesome and you aren't kidding, it adds up fast. We opened the awning and it shredded like paper....add another item on the list! (cha--CHING)
Gotta stay focused and take it one step at a time. (Waterproofing, waterproofing......don't need the cute curtains yet....waterproofing.)
Hope you get to take yours out of storage soon. Would love to see your pics!

Hey Duff, thanks...you are too kind.
My TW looks fairly good, but don't kid yourself...I have plenty of work ahead to get it all up to snuff.
I don't have a clue if anything works...didn't check a thing...just saw it and bought it.
We are basically in the same boat, as far as what need to be addressed, and we are both charting unfamiliar territory.
Glad we have this forum to help us find our way.
David
