Time to quit lurking...

Newbie Airstreamer. Drug home a '65 Overlander two weeks ago. Needs a little work (HA!). Exactly what I wanted, a fixer upper!!!

Ready to gut the interior and then decide how much of the floor to replace, definitely the bath. And the bath will be redone, do not like the materials used and it is all busted up anyway.

Thanks for all the info I have gleaned from this sight, it will be invaluable! A favorite quote is "Smart people learn from their mistakes; wise people learn from the mistakes of others". Hopefully I will prove to be the latter in this endeavor.

Name. A name. I have to think of a name for my 'stream...

Godspeed,
Trent

Looks like the entrance door and your axles have some problems.

Reworking an Airstream, can be a lot of fun.

But to start, always make them waterproof.

Welcome from the Florida Panhandle

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

That sure looks like Penelope to me.

Thanks Andy. Yeah, the door needs help, it actually was worse than that. I heard you know some tricks for that. Fortunately it is parked inside out of inclement weather.

Godspeed,
Trent

Thanks Brian. Used to live in FL, but not the panhandle. I do enjoy the sand, oaks and pines of the 'handle.

Penelople? I had a g/f by that name! Just kiddin'!!! Well, I'll stick it in the mix but I wouldn't hold out hope for it.

Godspeed,
Trent

Well, the comic-book hero "The Silver Surfer" entered the world (thanks to Stan Kirby of Marvel Comics) in 1966...

Godspeed (ship) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I think GODSPEED is a great name.

And good luck with your project.

Neil,

Good one!!! I have used that as my sign-off for a long time, hadn't occurred to me to give that name to the 'stream.

Joe,

Thanks for the Godspeed link - my early history lessons are quite fuzzy in some areas.

And thanks to all for the welcomes!

Godspeed,
Trent

In this image, it's interesting to note that he seems to be attacking Thor.

What's the name of the holding company for Airstream again...?
