Question The Agony and The Ecstasy of Owning an Argosy in Jackson Hole, WY

Hi, We're looking for a MANUAL for our 74 Argosy (26 ft). We just bought it and we're new to, not only the Airstream world, but the trailer world in general, and we live a thousand miles away from anyone who knows anything about Airstreams! . We also need a tail light cover for the rear left--or advice on how to patch the cracks in the one we have (can plastic be glued??) Thanks!

Hello Don -- Welcome to the Forums!

If you are looking for manuals, you could check for reproductions from Helen Davis at Secretarial Services, PO Box 484, Sidney, OH 45365 (937) 492-8885. High quality reprinted Service and Owners' Manuals are also available from the Airstream Store at Airstream, Inc :: Home look under books. If you don't see the year(s) you need contact Airstream.

I own a 1974 24' Argosy sitting out on a farm near here. I've got the manual for mine; the same manual covered all length Argosy trailers for that year and has data on each. These are general operations manuals and not the service manual. With a glued spine it wouldn't scan or xerox very well.

Welcome to the forums Donald. You should be able to find all the info you need here. Seems you probably have the answers you seek already. Argosies are nice and I would love to tour one some day.

Welcome again and congratulations on your new find.

Yup. Can be glued, screwed and otherwise bound. Question is, can it be sealed to keep out moisture? Yes it can, using most plastic adhesives. Asthetically, you might want to navigate more around the forums for various links to obtain vintage parts. here's a site that pretty cool: Vintage Trailer Supply - Vintage travel trailer parts and supplies! and of course: Airstream Central.

Good luck, welcome to the forums and enjoy your "new" Airstream!

Congratulations on the purchase of your Argosy. My wife and I were vacationing in Jackson Hole last week, was hard to leave. While riding our bicycles saw a few Air Streams and other classic trailers parked in front or along side homes around Jackson. Took photos of all of them, also have a couple of pictures without trailers in them. Did you happen to see the 1974 Airstream parked right off of 22 in Wilson, My Wife Renee was was driving me up to the top of Teton Pass, so I could ride my bicycle down the Black Canyon trail when we saw it. Before our trip she saw the same A/S for sale on E-bay. Supposed to be insured for $100,000.00, needless to say it did not sell. Take care enjoy you new toy!!

Was just looking at a photo of your model on Vintage Airstream. Is that lens all one piece?
