Tarbox - thinking about 2nd trailer

Hi everyone,
My wife and I are considering purchasing another airstream trailer. Our existing one is a 2004 25' Safari and we've enjoyed it very much. The one we're looking to buy is a 1974 International 31'. It's not in the best shape but we figure we can get it pretty cheap. The owner doesn't have the owners manuel and we were wondering if anyone has one or could let us know how we could get one. Also if anyone has any idea what an airstream of this vintage is worth. Also...if anyone has any information about restoring airstreams and where to get the parts etc.
Thanks,
Tom

Hello Tom -- and welcome to the Forums. Take a look at Vintage Airstream's Price vs. Condition. These Forums over time will cover a lot of what a person needs to know in inspecting and determining what a fair price for a given Airstream might be. There is no crash course, so I hope you've been browsing for a while if you're considering this deal. A 30 year old trailer will have quite a number of needs unless it has been maintained in very usable condition -- and probably stored indoors.

How to restore? It's a long and complex process. You'll need to ask more about details as you go step by step -- but you've found the place to do that.

We lived in Silver Creek Township until 1988 -- but are not natives of the area.

Hi Tom,
High quality reprints of the both the service manual and the owners manual are available from the Airstream Store look near the bottom of the first page for the Service Manual and the top of the second page for the Owners Manual. They are almost a necessity when it comes to working on a vintage unit.
