Step 1

Step 1 - join the Forum.

Step 2 - Introduce yourself - I so want to go RVing full time and travel, travel, travel. It will be just me and my dog.
I have a few years of tent camping and one year in a class c about 15 years ago. That's my experience. I have been lurking and reading for the last 9 months. Probably too much because now I'm a little freaked by the maintenance and mechanical know-how that is needed.

I would like to buy an 2021 Ford F150 hybrid with max tow, tow mirrors and 7 kw on board generator.

I would like to buy an Airstream. It is an easier tow for a novice. I like the way they look. I want an EB 25 FBT but that's probably pie in the sky thinking. I would like the security and safety of 2 axels but not a big trailer. So something like a 23'CB or 25'FBT. But that's where I get stuck. Do I go older and risk getting a fixer? Older is more in line with my budget. Or go with something from the last decade and carry debt?

I know there are inspectors in this forum but how do I go about getting one? Is there a special forum or thread? How do I make payment to them? PayPal or bank check or credit card or ??? Do I need an inspector if there are records and dealership systems check?

I should shut up now and await your kind responses.

Thank you

Consider a 22-23 ft. They are narrower and lighter than the 25, making towing a little easier. Used can save you the initial depreciation of a new, plus someone else mav have worked out the bugs. Too old, though, and you can have other worries like rotted floors. Find a nice, used, fairly recent unit. IMO that's the best way to start. You can always sell it and move to another without taking a hit.

Hey driver.Relax.Keep asking questions!
Ok, disclaimer.Old mechanic, non Ford lover.Always talk a lot of smak about Ford's.Chevy guy.
But I always end up adding a Ford to my fleet.I just did again, with a late 90s F-150.
Save your $$ on a new one ( read the rusting complaints on the 2021 F-150s )
Buy a used F-250.Its a bigger tow vehicle.Bigger is always better, for trailer yanking.Especially if new to yanking trailers.
Moving on, save yourself $$$ by buying a used Airstream.Problem now is, it's a sellers market for used RVs.
Let's say a 2005 or whatever.Axles will most likely be ok.These Airstreams have a primitive suspension system.Thats why they look cool + ride low.Like a hard tail Harley chopper, with a primitive suspension system.
.Dont be too scared of a used one. But, again, it's a sellers market.
If you're going to full time it, and want a towing solution, that will give you plenty of additional cargo space a truck wont, buy a E-350 Ford 1 Ton Cargo van. They take a beating, I'll admit, and make storage so much easier, keeping a lot of stuff, like generators, easy to get to.
