Starting with the Basecamp

Greetings Airstreamers! My wife and I came back from a five-day backpack trip in the Bob Marshall Wilderness area in Montana and decided that maybe our backs and hips weren't cut out for ground sleeping anymore. We looked around at the rPods and some small retro models but decided that the Basecamp was going to be the new "tent" for us. Have enjoyed a couple trips and we're looking forward to more. Some issues to be fixed but hoping the Basecamp works out.

Glad to see you've "riveted" your choice! Get to know a lot of good people in your area in the Airstream Owners Club at www.wbcci.org. Great times await you, and 5809 will be looking for you!

I still enjoy backpacking but my wife doesn't so a few years ago we got a pop-up tent camper and our whole family enjoyed it immensely! Rented a couple of small motorhomes for a month each in Australia and New Zealand and enjoyed those too. So much so that we then came back and got a 25' Airstream. All good!

Enjoy your BaseCamp, day hikes, and your comfortable bed at night . And you can always go backpacking when the urge strikes.
