Sport 16 coming soon

Thank you forum Airstreamers for sharing your knowledge, mistakes, and road wisdom with us newbies. We have learned a lot from your posts!! As long time Bambi enthusiasts we have finally taken the plunge and Sport 16 is on order. We Jack, Linda and (our 85 pound dog) Amos have a long history of summer backpacking and canoe camping in a 2 person pup tent and winter camping in 2 person mountain tent which is to say we a accustomed to living small. By comparison the Sport seems like an exoctic palace that can fit into most campgrounds and gasp ... a bathroom, hot and cold water, a bed, a table, Ac and Heat and a kitchen- goodby freeze dried meals and we are living high .. a foot and a half off the cold wet ground! The factory is adding rock guards, a second battery, and backup camera. We listened to you and in the spirit that “preparation heightens anticipation” we have started to outfit the soon to be delivered bambi. Check out our slide show and thanks for your contributions to this most excellent forum.

Too fun!

My free advice: hold off on purchasing the twin generators. You're coming from tent camping, and you have dual batteries. The only thing those will gain for you is the ability to run the air conditioner. Take a few trips and see if you can live without them first.

Thanks NorCal Matt for the welcome and thank-you NW Getaways for the advice. This forum has mentioned the "Easy Start" gadget for the air conditioning and I am trying to get my head around this- as I would only need one 2000 Honda generator - your advise is taken and postponing this purchase makes sense for several reasons -- thanks .... Jack
