So Pysched-
Hello to all! Just wanted to introduce myself and let you all know how happy I am to be an airstream owner (parent?)
I just bought a 1998 25' safari- It is in great shape- 1 owner, not used much-The decor leaves a bit to be desired- so we will remove carpet, and eventually remove the front couch and table and put in an L shaped couch- I think. Needs a bath, too
We (Husband, Bossy little dog, and I) will camp in her all summer in one place, and then plan to go to florida for a month or two next winter. Would love to hear any advice, is there anything specific to this year that I should know?
Yay!

And if you want to come down to Destin, let me know! We've got a ton of beautiful beaches-Henderson Beach State Park is great (although no sewer at sites).
Congrats on your new "baby"!

Hi TinZilla,
Congrats! Welcome to the wonderful world of Airstream ownership.
I'm not sure I've ever seen the layout of a 1998 25' Safari, does it have a dinette or a pull out table next to the couch? We own a 93 25' Classic (Excella), this size Classic did not (and does not) offer a dinette, which is ok with me as I like the larger lounge area. If you do remove the your couch and table list them for sale in the classifieds section of this forum for folks who are looking for replacement items for their project trailers, it would be appreciated! Here's my advice: I recommend that after you wash your rig you Walbernize it. Being so close to the ocean is hard on the clearcoat and this product will help protect it.
Did the previous owners tell you folks about the WBCCI? This is the Airstream Owners Club. We joined the year we received our trailer and I've come to consider being a club member one of the best things about owning an Airstream. There are a couple of Units local to you:
Cape Cod: http://www.capecodmassunit.org/
New England: http://www.wbcci1.org/ne
We are having a big Tri-Unit rally June 22 - June 25 at Scusset Beach State Park - there should be 40+ Airsteams there. You guys are welcome to join us!

Howdy neighbor, we took the plunge a year and a half ago and haven't regretted a moment. We've met lots of people and look forward to spending time with them during the camping season. I would suggest you come out to one of the Spring rallies and meet some of us. The Region One Group does a lot of joint rallies and there is a lot of cross over even when it's one unit putting on the rally so you'll get the chance to meet a lot of members from the different units (New England, White Mountain, Cape Cod, Charter Oak). There may even be someone from the Quebec Unit. If you want to go someplace close to home try the Scusset Beach Rondevous just over the bridge in Sagamore. This is a dry camping weekend (come full fresh water, and empty gray/black tanks). There will be a lot of people to answer any questions that are sure to pop up between now and then. Chances are if it's happening to you, it's happened to someone in this group. Good luck and feel free to pm us if you like.

Hey neighbor! Welcome to the forums! We are sadly without trailer when we are on the Cape for the summer, but we had a blast visiting everyone at Scusset Beach. This is a great rally to drive in and get to know the other 'streamers in the area. M&M have done some amazing things to spruce up their trailer, and many others in the New England club have tons of knowledge on the remodeling aspects of Airstreaming.
Maybe we will bump into you this summer!
Kathleen

I don't know if I have knowledge but I do have a solar oven! Hee hee!
Do try to come down and check this rally out. IMHO, this is one of the BEST rally's held in the New England area. Laid back, no scheduled activities, tacky lighted flamingos run by generators...
