Slightly overwhelmed

Have just acquired a (largely intact original) 1959 Overlander, my first trailer of any type. Have always loved the look of Airstreams of this era, but feel I have a lot to learn before I and this trailer are ready for a year or so of work-related (stationary) full-timing! Will be living in it in a high desert area, so heating and cooling will both be important issues. I know there will be others, and look forward to learning from experienced vintage rehabbers, as well as experienced full-timers.

Welcome to the forums!
You're in luck, right now there are several deep restoration going on right here at the forums. Much to see and read on 50's Airstream trailers!

Hey Lynne, welcome to the world of 50's Airstreams. I just found a 58 in southern Oklahoma and "oh no" I bought it. Have done restoration on my 78 Argosy, but this is a whole new animal. Please keep us posted on what you do and send pictures. I'm a bit overwhelmed with what I've taken on and may end up selling this one to someone else. I know there is a lot of info on here about complete restorations, just don't know if we're in the same league with those folks. Where in Texas are you. May need help up here.

Hi, Lynne,

In six months or less, I predict that you'll be writing to one of the moderators about changing your "screen name" here.
