Shocks missing bolts

Hi, first posting. Have a 2019 25 FB Flying Cloud for 2 years. Recently draining water lines for winter storage and noticed missing nuts on both shocks on one side. Other side looks great. Plan to replace nuts and wondering if I need to jack up on one wheel at a time to access and tighten nuts on raised wheel.

Shock nuts.

I put these nuts and washers on mine. It's easier if you can lift the trailer.

In checking my shocks on 2021 FC 25’, the nuts near the hubs are both missing on the curb side. I bought the nuts you recommended but I’m unclear on how to install them. The threaded rod holding the shock is not showing so nothing to thread bolt onto. If I pull one wheel up on Andersen tire changing ramp thing will that give me enough free play to move the shocks back in position? I don’t want to haul the trailer to have a simple task done but I’m also “a woman of a certain age” and don’t want to get started on something I can’t finish!

You'll have to shove the shock onto the stud and then you will see the threads. Be sure to install a washer. It's not necessary to lift the trailer but it may make access easier but may make it harder to shove the shock back into position.

Thanks John! I was able to get them put back together. Had to use a small pry bar to hold them in place until I got the nut started.

Good deal! You can change your profile info from Currently Looking to 2021 25'FC now that you're a veteran.

Exclamation Missing Shock Nuts, your not alone

During routine check under my 25FB International (2018), noted both nuts missing on curbside. Don't know how long they have been missing because it is not obvious to see, not thinking such a thing would happen. I thought I was alone with this problem, but see by all the posts about this issue over the past few years, I see I am not alone.

You would think that with such a prominent problem, Airsoft would put out a notice on the website, but that I guess not because it would admit some sort of failure on their part. Yet, just another...

Me Too

I lost the nut on the curbside rear shock twice, until I got the Locknuts shown above.

Nylon insert nuts are a good thing.
However technically they are a one time use thing as well.
Threadlocker would make any nut reusable.

Contrary to it's name, the fastener is not locked on a permanent basis. Rather the fastener is just a little isolated from coming loose based on vibration.

A very small dap and install fastener.

Used frequently in automotive suspension applications. And there are a variety of choices. And a small tube would likely last the non-professional tech years.
