Saying hello as a new member from Austin Texas

While I was retired for a bit, and back in 2017 I took one of many trips to Sturgis SD on my HD. My wife and I had been looking for an Airstream prior to that trip for a while. Well during that Sturgis trip and from Sturgis I texted my wife to say, I think I am done with the bikes lets get that Airstream. Net net that’s all it took. We ended up with a 2018 25’ Flying Cloud. We camped just about every weekend and in 2019, after a very hot Texas summer, in Oct, I told my wife lets go to the Airstream dealer an order the rear and side awnings. After placing our order for the awnings we stopped on the way out to say hi to our sales rep, Rachel. Rachel, told us we had to see an Airstream she had on the lot. It was a 2019 30’ International Serenity with the Salsa interior. So now the story goes like this. We purchase our awnings and it came with a 30’ International Serenity and we love it. The picture posted shows our new 30’ top and bottom was our 25’ that was sold the next day, and the couple that purchased it ended up at the same campground with us, for our initial shakedown. Awesome, congratulations. We have completed our first year with our Airstream (first RV year also). Love it and looking forward to another summer traveling. Our AS also served me well while staying in Houston for a couple of months. Our last two wheel adventure was a month in the Alps on a BMW. Great fun, and great adventure, but not keen on riding stateside much anymore, except may do some track days.

Powerrunner, what a great story, thanks for sharing it.

I just read it to my DF and she laughed out loud! It's funny to hear other's stories about their first and second AS. We bought a 2018 FC23FB (but wanted a 25') due to the limits of our TV. We did two trips then paid a visit to our AS dealer.

We told George, our salesperson "we made a mistake". He said, "okay, I'll help you but pick out the one you REALLY want this time". I asked him how often does this happen? He said "more often than you think!" They sold our trailer a few days later.

We're now the happy owners of a 2019 27' Globetrotter and couldn't be happier.

Wishing you many happy trips in your new Airstream!

The dogs, Goldendoodles, named Cadence and Pace (named after being a runner) absolutely love the AS. When we bring the AS home to prep it for a trip they go crazy.

Thanks, we love it here in Austin, but not enjoying the Stay at Home order. We did bring the AS to our home, and do spend time in it wishing we were on the road.
