Salutations from Crooked Lake, MI

Hello every one! This is the beginning of a hopefully long and fun journey with our new 1958 Caravanner. I have joined this forum to find new friends and get advice on upgrading what is an essentially untouched airstream. It is beautiful and shiney, but I am sure the original heater and hot water systems will need upgrading. I plan to replace the belly of the trailer, protect and repair the frame. I will upgrade the electrical system as well, so will need plenty of help from those in the know. We hope to meet new friends with this Airstream, especially those who like to fly fish the streams of northern MI.

Welcome to the forums! You've got the very best model Airstream ever made. . . .but since I have one too, I'm probably a little prejudiced.

Read through my thread and blog and it'll give you an idea of what you might find with yours. Long way still to go with mine.

cheers,
steve

Well, welcome!

Sounds like yer' gonna' do a lot of work. Luckily, there are a lot of folks on here who know how to do almost everything with these rolling homes! I've done nothing with mine except tow it around and live in it, mostly near those "up north" trout waters. You're gonna love it!

Laura,
Hello neighbor just over the hill.

Sorry to hear about your niece.

I was introduced to you through Roger. I hear you are in quite an Airstream family!
I am sure we will be seeing each other soon.
