S&c2343 - contemplating full-timing

Hello Everyone,
Well this is a first for us, we plan on full-timing with-in a year. We have two life-times of stuff to dispose of, would love any sutggestions. I know it will be a long hard road, just getting it out, is a real trip.

We also went and bought a New 2007 Classic w/so 34'. of course this is our 5th airstream, but also the biggest. We have been retired about 13 years and decided it was time for a new adventure. Would appreciate any knowledge you have as to a tow vehicle & things you only learn by doing.

That 34SO is a mighty machine and is going to take a mighty tow vehicle.

I have never considered full timing but if I did I would not consider giving up everthing just yet. Consider having nothing to come home to if you don't like it, if something happens. I have known couples that went full time and placed their things in storage for a year. If at the end of that year you are convinced it's for you you will have been removed form things and they will be easier to part with.

Hey Guys thanks so much for the input. we are trying to get rid of mostly 50+ years of living stuff. we will still have a place in Cloudcroft, NM. we want to sell also. Do plan on storing a few things that are not replaceable, of course that's the deciding factor.

really need some input on new tow vehicle thinking of the GMC Duramax Diesel (hate those smelley left running trucks). We are members of WBCCI Unit 99 Tx #2343. Maybe see you guys down the road.

Hello, S&C! Depending upon whether or not you need the $$, either donate stuff to the Women's shelter, ARC (Association of Retarded Citizens), or to FPS (Family & Protective Services - state). Most stuff goes to Goodwill/Salvation Army & these other folks get left out...

Otherwise, do EBay, Craigs List or a garage sale...

Storage unit is a must if you are not planning on having a base station from which to operate from.

BTW, what are you towing your 34' with? What kind of hitch?

Years ago, we used to camp out past Cloudcroft (going towards Sunspot then towards Timberon.) Place called Danley Canyon... very remote - beautiful views of white sands in the distance from way up in the mountain! Nary a soul passed us by...

we haven't decided if we are going with the GMC Duramax or Chevy checking them out. our place is at the 4 mile marker on hwy 244 going to Ruidoso, we plan on selling it soon, need to do a feew things to it. but it is accessable year-round, with a babbling brook running through the property. if the gates open stop and say hi. we love it up there just tooooo much maintence.
any feed-back on a good tow vehicle? we do donate to the abussed woman center and the humane society. of course your talking two lifetimes of stuff. i only have three more storage buildings to empty, plus contents of three bedroom house. The place in Cloudcroft is fully furnished. AND we are X-Antiquers. With lots of inventory left.
