RV 500 upgrade

Hi, First time here, first airstream. In the midst of renovating, don't want to wait for the Atwood tankless water heater. The RV 500 is slightly larger, has anybody put one in, I'm replacing a Bowen (Atwood now?) 6 gallon. Do I need to cut out on the outside of trailer or just modify inside space. Loath to cut away skin, inside not a problem. Ordering new furnace too. Thanks

Thumbs up Welcome Aboard....

Do you have the specs for the 500?

Is the access is large enough?

IMHO...I wouldn't start cutting 'til the units IN HAND.

Bob,
RV-500 13.5Wide x 14.5High x 13.5Deep 35 pounds
Atwood G6A7 16w x 12.5H x 16 7/8D
Don't want to cut, may just replace with 6gallon and wait for Atwood to work out the bugs on new tankless which won't be out for a while I've heard.

The RV 500 will require some altering. Not sure what the fear of cutting aluminum is. Pretend it is paper and the shears are scissors. Very easy install and excellent product. Well worth the extra money in my opinion. We installed one last week and three last month.

Or pretend you're 5-years old and your hair needs a little styling.
