Rolland from Chiefland Florida

Hi-Nancy and I are Joining the group after just obtaining a fairly clapped out 30' 1967 Soverign Land Yacht International-Now the work begins. Have stripped out most of the interior to the floors, need to start working under the floors and putting in glass (1 rear, 1 front, and one side) It was used as a park trailer for years, so now I need to scrounge a 3 way fridge, water heater, water tank, heater, glass, etc. This is our third Airstream rebuild, so nothing new, just a lot of work. The hull is nice, no dents to speak of, but the interior has been neglected. Would like to take her out west this fall, so better get to work! Rolland and Nancy Christians

Welcome Rolland and Nancy.

I just love the lines and the curved windows in my 66 TW. Looking forward to following your progress.

Rolland

Thanks to all of you for the welcome. Our old WBCCI # was 3216, but it has been taken. We decided to use the number that was the first on the coach, 5953, as it is now open. I will post photos as we go along. Any help finding appliances and parts is greatly appreciated. Now that all the carpeting and moveable furniture is out of the way, next step for us it to block it up and pull all the bottom sheet metal and inspect. (Needs to be re-riveted anyway, may as well pull it out so we can do a decent job of inspection and run new wiring while at it) Back to work! Rolland and Nancy

Welcome to Airstreaming and enjoy your project!

Wish I had the youth and/or energy to do what you've done.

Almost done, hopefully be able to pull her back outside and do a test run next week, will post photos. Will not be completed inside in time for the first trip, but will use it as is this time and work on it more this winter after we get back. Shakedown run is Fl to NM and back in 3 or 4 weeks.

Getting closer, now have hot and cold water on 12v and gas finished, cut the foam for the mattresses today. Have under two weeks to finish and leave, after a VA appointment tomorrow will actually have only 11 days left. Still have to finish reassembling the bathroom, put the woodwork back in the center section, paint the ceilings, and put in the hardwood flooring. Piece of cake, right? My youngest grandsons wife had a baby girl yesterday, which is a subtle reminder that I may not be 25 anymore?!? Better get moving! Keep working everybody, time is slipping away!
