Doing a search on 2004 25ft Safari... had tongue damaged - tree fell on it & had to be replaced. Seller/dealer says the title is 'Rebuilt' which prevents the unit from being financed. Waiting on responses/details re used tongue or new tongue & what VIN is currently used on title. Looking for advice re what kind of repair is tongue replacement, how serious & if we should pass on this unit.
I paid around $1500 for a brand new tongue to be built and installed on our Airstream. Even at twice that amount, I don't think it would be the 70% of value that is generally accepted as "totaled", requiring a rebuilt title. Look for further damage or repairs that have been performed or need to be done.
