Proud new owner of a '64 Trade Wind

Hello all,
I just had to share my great news - my DH and I became the proud owners of a '64 Trade Wind last evening.

After poking around this website for a few months, we decided it was time to take the plunge and find an airstream. We took a roadtrip, made many a phone call, fretted and dispaired over finding the perfect trailer. Then something happened on Saturday. While poking around on this site I came across an old thread on finding your "perfect" airstream. Someone offered the great advice of not giving up hope and searching non-traditional methods like craigslist. A lightbulb went off, and I quickly searched craigslist. There she was, listed 2 hours earlier, a '64 Trade Wind.

I picked up the phone, talked to the owner for about 20 minutes and made an appointment to go see it yesterday. After a 2 hour inspection and a "are you ready to make it yours?" from my DH we put down the deposit and will bring her home on Saturday.

I'm sure you don't want all the boring details, but I wanted to share my enthusiasm with people who understand what airstreams are all about.

- In the words of the little kid from the Disney commercials - "I'm too excited to sleep!!"

We ALWAYS want all the details! They are rarely boring and often touch on an issue that someone has had or will soon have. Congratulations on your find; we hope to see you on the road some day. By the way, we seem to be gaining many new forum members from Michigan ~G

Congratualtions on your find! We all share in your excitement. Vintage Tradewinds are wonderful, a great size. Kind of like in Goldilocks and the three bears ~~ not too big, not too small, but just right.

Now, when you get her home, you've got to post some pictures.
