Proud New Owner

Our journey to Airstream began 2 years ago when we rented an RV to take our 2 senior dogs on vacation with us. It was one of the best trips ever! And we wanted to take more dog-cations.

(Roland, Devon, Loki & Wotan)

When we came home we'd talk on and off about getting a trailer - decided an RV was not for us because, well, just because - this isn't supposed to be a novel At the time our SUV, affectionately known as "Silver Lady," wasn't strong enough to tow so we weren't in much of a rush. When our Silver Lady could go no more, we decided to replace her with "Rex" a definite tow-er, MBZ GL450. Since bringing Rex home, we've also brought home 2 more puppies - siblings a year apart.

Then last summer we decided Airstream was the one for us. After doing lots of research it seemed that the Safari SE 20 or the Flying Cloud 20 was just what we "needed." Naturally, finding a 20' was complicated. We didn't want to purchase new so went on a search for a slightly used, lovingly cared for model. Finding a West Coast one was even more difficult. Our first find was sold before we even had a chance to call. Then in May up pops an ad for exactly what we want 3 hours south of us. Made contact with the seller the next day and offered to purchase it sight unseen. In my defense, there were lots of photos in the ad. Seller thought I was nuts and wanted to speak to my husband to make sure we were serious. Seller then wanted to speak to his wife because the situation was rather unusual. That was on a Saturday, the following weekend we took possession of "Romulus."

Rex and Romulus have there forever homes with us and our 3 Cane Corso's - 13 yr old Wotan, 17 month old Frya and her half brother, 7 month old, Baldr.

(Baldr, Devon, Frya & Romulus)

Here's to years of adventures, lots of memories and general happiness with "R&R."

Welcome! You sound like a perfect Streamer. Hope to meet you along the trail someday.

Cheers,
John

P.S. BTW, I bought our trailer sight unseen also. Discussed at length with the seller and made the decision. No regrets whatsover. Sometimes you just have to roll!

Hi from Minnesota. I sure like the tinted windows on your new Airstream. That will keep you cooler on hot, sunny days. You're going to have lots of company when you travel. Walking the dogs in the campground will keep you busy for sure.

Enjoy your new Airstream. Enjoy your travel adventures. And enjoy these Air Forums. There is just a lot of nice folks here that are happy to answer questions you have as they come up.

Welcome to the forums. Lots of great information here free for the reading. Some truths and lots of opinions. The fun is guessing which is which.
