Proud (and anxious) New Streamer

Dear Friends,

I have a dear friend who is going to be building a house on his remote ranch and I am going to help him. Several months ago I started looking for a used travel trailer to haul out there so I would have a place to sleep while helping him. I soon stumbled upon my first Airstream, and soon narrowed my search to only Airstreams. I was intrigued by their history, their beauty and their practicality. After months of looking, I finally found the object of my desire- a 1960 Land Yacht, 22'. It has a dinette, all pink appliances, a double bed (with a bunk on top of it) and a full bath. I am so excited to start fixing her up and enjoying her. My first project was a power inlet....the existing one was an old Bryant 4wire three phase (no cover) and the previous owner had lost the mate. I installed a stainless steel Marinco and it looks great. Next I plan to have the axle, brakes and tires checked out, then will turn my attention to interior matters. I still plan to take her to my friend's ranch, but upon return I want to restore (or renovate...not sure which) her. Look forward to making new friends and having new adventures on this Forum. Take care, Tom from Lake McQueeney (The Water Ski Capitol of Texas)

So is your friend going get mad when you start tinkering with you new love instead of helping him build his new house? You've been bitten by the the Aluma-Bug.

Welcome to the group.

They are indeed addictive. I just took mine back to the storage yard 3 days ago and still miss it.

Tom, once you narrowed your search to AS's only there was no turning back, you were truly bitten. Congrats and have fun. Post some pics
