Pre-Newbie

We’ve just placed a deposit on a Basecamp 20. We were lucky enough to get a slot from someone who backed out and are expecting delivery in late July. My first order of business is to get the 7 pin connection in my Toyota Highlander.

Congrats. I hope you take delivery soon! I was recently at the Airstream dealer in Denver and they had several new Basecamp 20 units on the lot. Have you considered accelerating your timeline by purchasing out of state? I don’t know if they’re still available, but it may be an option for you. We bought our International 23 FB at Airstream of Chicago in 2020 and had a nice 12-day shakedown trip on the way back to Colorado.

Welcome from Colorado: Formally from Minnesota. We enjoyed our 27 years there, but Colorado is nice too.

I think all Airstreams are "base camps" as that is what a lot of people use them for. After a day of hiking, biking, fishing, sightseeing, et.al. you have a comfortable to go that keeps you warm, dry, fed and bathed.

These Airstream Forums can help you learn all about your new Basecamp. I think there is a whole sub-category for them.

Thanks for the welcome. No real hurry on delivery. We’ve already got a lot going on this summer. But thanks for the tip.
